This is Inch Imaging, a print shop located on the east side of Hamilton. I worked as a graphic designer here for a brief time, only 3 weeks, but during that time I learned a great deal and developed myself more than I ever thought I could.
Aaron, part owner and overall manager, took me on in a time of turmoil. His current designer was leaving and he needed to find someone capable of the job. I answered the call and pretty much hit the ground running, taking on projects that were halfway done and needed completion, while others were just in their concept stages.
I was the main designer for Inch and was charged with handling everything from answering phones to setting up files for print. Providing clients with great design, as well as quoting on jobs for potential clients was all part of my role. I had a lot of fun taking on projects for people from many different walks of life. Everyone from real estate agents to doctors to landscapers visited Inch in need of something to improve their business.
Not only was I thrilled at continuing my design work, but I was privileged with having a great mentor and boss. Aaron is a great leader in so many ways, not enough can be said about him. His knowledge about design and printing (and everything else in the world!) is second to none. He has a great sense of marketing and strategy and has an excellent grasp of business in general. From my first day there, Aaron trusted my design sense and intuition and backed me up with any problem I ran into. I learned a great deal from him in a short time and will take his lessons with me wherever I go in life. I’m sure anyone working under him will be able to build confidence and grow as a designer and as a person.
All my other teammates were delightful to work with and I enjoyed coming to work everyday. I will miss them all and wish them the best of luck in they’re future. But I will see them again, because I just know I’m going to have to print my own custom stickers one day!
Thanks for everything, Inch.
